Michaela Monahan
Michaela is the friendly face you’ll see all over town building on our jobsites and checking on our subcontractors. Despite graduating from UNC with a BS in Biology and minors in Environmental Science and Chemistry, she found a career in construction after volunteering with Habitat for Humanity her senior year and being hired as a Site Supervisor after graduation.Through on-the-job-training she learned to lead volunteers to build single family homes in addition to a 24-home senior specific community. Her attention to detail and people-centric spirit have helped her foster deep roots personally and professionally in the Carrboro/Chapel Hill and Durham communities. Michaela came to JHS in 2022 to expand her horizons and grow beyond the non-profit world of construction.
When she is not swinging a hammer, Michaela loves to go to hot yoga classes, swing dance, hike, and work on her own home improvement projects with her cat Watson.
